Let me tell you about my day yesterday. Started off with Chris waking me up to look at his eye. He hit his self in the eye Sunday with a branch, and it got bruised, so he stayed home yesterday to go to the optometrist and then rest his eye. Baby man slept until 7:45, so I should have been on time for work, but my contact acted up, and I ended up getting here my usual five minutes late. Truly, it's ridiculous. I'm ALWAYS five minutes late. Why can't I move that back and get here on time??? There is no excuse.
So work sucks, as usual, and I leave about 4:40, get home about 5:15. Chris is making dinner, so I pitch in, we eat, then I have to get up from the dinner table, run put on my lipstick, stick the baby in the van and head to Vacation Bible School, which is all this week.
VBS goes pretty good, and I leave there at about 8:40. Mom and Dad got new windows yesterday, so I drove past their house to look at them. Mom came out to the van and climbed in to visit for a few minutes, and I ended up not getting home until 9:15. Once there, I get the baby ready for bed and start giving him his bottle. I have Chris take over, then I hang up all of the baby's laundry. Once that's done, I head to the living room where I pack up some extra changes of clothes for Izzy to take to mom's. I also put "i" on a bunch of clothes and shoes that Izzy has outgrown, to give them to Noah. I decide that Izzy needs some new toys for mom's too, so I gather up a bunch to take over there, and I add some more to his diaper bag. That leads me to make sure it's fully stocked, so I grab alcohol wipes, a paci holder, cheerios, and fill 'er up.
Then it's time to clean off the kitchen table, which is where all of the mail invariably lands. We love to entertain, so when we saw this awesome eight foot natural wood table at Ikea, we had to have it. BIG mistake. It's just eight foot of storage space. I make many little piles - the one closest to me includes pictures to send out, property tax forms to mail in, and bills that are due, and it came to work with me today. The one right next to that is Chris's, and it has latches for the cabinets, updated resumes, a little quote cut from the newspaper concerning intelligence (?) and Izzy's latest pics in wallet sizes. Then there are piles of coupons, receipts to file, things to throw away, things to mail...but I eventually get it all organized and filed away. I finish picking things up from the dining room and put everything away, and I do the same for the living room.
It's now 11:15, and I'm feeling pretty darn good about all I've got done, so it's off to get ready for bed. On the way, I see more things in the hallway and bedroom that need to be dispersed around the house, so I don't actually get to the bathroom to do my nightly getting-ready-for-bed-routine until 11:30. Even then, I multitask. I hold one of my many magazines in my left hand, and I catch up on my reading as I take out my contacts, wash my face, brush my teeth, floss and gargle. It's the only time I have to read, so I take advantage of it. I hit the sack, and it's 11:37, so I read. But I'm tired, so I only make it through 5 or 6 pages. At the rate I read now, it takes me about a month to make it through even a little book!
Then it's lights out, and we all sleep through the night again - can I have a big giant woo-hoo?! And I get up at 6:41 to start another day that will look just like yesterday. What I'd give for an extra couple of hours every day. But then I'd just try to catch up on my laundry. You know that saying, that a mother's work is never done? Trust me, that's a little bit of gospel there.

I'm glad he slept through the night for you!!! Perhaps he could train Vivienne. ;-)
