Izzy's going to be a big brother!

Now I know why I was acting like a raving lunatic yesterday - pregnancy hormones!! Yippee! I can't believe we got pregnant so soon after starting to try, but we did!

Last night when I got ready for bed, I noticed my, umm....chest....was tender. I also told Chris yesterday that work had me so upset that I had to start taking Tums again because of all the heartburn. Both of these are signs of pregnancy, and since I was ten days late, too, I took a test.

When that pink line started to develop I didn't believe it. Thought it was a fluke of the test. I took it to the bedroom, tip-toed to Chris's side of the bed, and whispered, "Chris are you awake?" He said he was so I touched the touch-lamp three times to turn it on fully, and handed him his glasses. He looked at the test and did the so/so sign with his hand, looking suspicious. A nervous grin came over my face, and I said, "The test says any line means it's positive..." I let the thought trail off and I got into the shower.

As I let the water wake me up, I got more and more excited. Could it be real? Could I actually be pregnant even though my progesterone levels were so low? I rinsed the soap out of my hair and toweled off. The test was laying on the little storage unit by the sink and as I glanced over at it, the positive pink line jumped out at me. As I showered, the test kept developing and there was no doubt I was pregnant!

I finished getting ready, and ended up being done 45 minutes before I had to leave to head to work. I figured this was a sign that it's time to start eating healthy again, so I went into the kitchen and made myself a bowl of corn bran and 1% milk. Finished it up, and Chris STILL was asleep, so I went back into the bedroom to put on my jewelry. Somehow this sound always wakes him up. Baby crying - no. Jewelry rustling - yes.

He asked me if I was going to take another test to work. I said, no, of course not, but that I'd be happy to take one before I left. Long story, short - it was positive too. I called the ob/gyn as soon as I got to work, and they had me come in at 9 a.m. to verify the pregnancy.

I did, it was, and they drew more blood to check my progesterone. The previously low level was a cause for concern. They called me this afternoon at 3:30 to tell me that the progesterone was up to 15 and the pregnancy hormone looked great too! I was so relieved.

So now I expect the morning sickness to start very soon - I was sick the whole time with Izzy. I expect to start the hourly trips to the bathroom. I know my chest will shortly start to hurt if even my shirt brushes against it.

I can't wait!
