Sunday morning we decided to skip church so we could go to see my Grandma. That gave us a little more time to laze about in bed, so we did. I got sick, of course, so I went in to lay down, and shortly thereafter followed Chris and Izzy. Chris laid down beside me and put Izzy between us. Izzy had a big full belly so he was feeling calm and contented, playing with us. He has an adorable way of leaning his forehead into our mouths when he wants a kiss. He does it really slowly, so we're always prepared. He also likes to slam his head into ours, but this he does quickly so we don't have time to move.
Anyhow, he leaned over to me, and I kissed his forehead. Then he leaned over to his daddy, who also kissed his forehead. Then he leaned back over to me, only this time he nuzzled his cheek against my lips, so I complied with a kiss. He then leans over and does the same thing to Chris. He sits up smiling, then he reaches both of his hands towards my face, putting one sweet little hand on each side of my cheeks. He then very deliberately, slowly, and with much concentration, lined his lips up with mine and gave me a big kiss replete with a "mmmphhh!" It was so precious. Then he leaned over and put his hands on both sides of daddy's face and repeated the process.
He hugged us both a few times, always careful to take turns, then he wiggled off the bed. I looked at Chris and said, "That was just a moment of perfect parent nirvana, wasn't it?" I love that child.

Ohhhh - I love that feeling!
I got to experience this the other day too, only it was auntie nirvana. Cindy, Izzy and I were on her be and he went through all this with me also--kiss Cindy, kiss me, hug Cindy, hug me... Then he decided my hair needed fixed and he ever so gently "fixed" my hair by pulling it all into my face. Then he would pull a piece tot he side, just so he could see my eyes, and and give me the biggest smile. When he was finally done, he pushed it all back and scooted in so that he straddled me and gave me the biggest hug! It was so great to be there and know that he loves me just as much as I love him.
