Dad just dropped off the crib and changing table. It just seems like yesterday that he painted them both white for Izzy's nursery, and now he's painted them a gorgeous chocolate brown for this baby's nursery. He did such a beautiful job on them, as always.
We had a busy weekend, taking care of house projects. Most of my time was spent, of course, chasing Izzy, but Chris put in a new kitchen faucet, fixed the hot water faucet in our shower, installed a dimmer switch in Izzy's nursery, fixed the hole in our kitchen ceiling caused by a leak, and painted the nursery a gorgeous olive/sage green. That's the project I'm most excited about. Sure, the kitchen ceiling needed fixed, but now there's a fine layer of sanded spackle over our entire house. Speaking of which, I hope spackle dust isn't poisonous.
We've bought a satin throw that is a pale green and silver. I'm planning on cutting it down and making it into her crib bedspread, because you never actually cover the baby with the bedspread anyhow. We're going to put white shutters on her window, to match the white trim. If our ideas come together nicely, it's going to be a gorgeous, elegant nursery, completely mismatched with the rest of our technicolor house. And it's not going to cost us very much.
We're getting excited. Both of us are nesting awfully hard this time around, and I, for one, am tired of feeling sick and tired. Got to keep her cooking a little while longer, to make sure she's good and healthy, but I really hope that I remember how difficult this pregnancy has been, and one of us gets the snip snip. A new baby makes the past 10 months disappear.
CAN NOT WAIT.
