Have I ever got a good post for you today. But first I have to run and check on Izzy....I'm back. Poor little guy. Halfway through every nap now, he wakes up in a terror. I just pushed his door open in time to see a big tear fall from each of those big blue eyes. I laid down with him for a minute, and now he's sleeping peacefully again.
Be sure to check out the picture below. That's Izzy as he looks right now. I took this picture when I first laid him down today for his nap. That's Snoopy baby at the top, and his other baby right beside him. It doesn't really have a name. We both feel it's kind of weird for us to name his babies for him. But we have named his paci's. They are all called noonies.
I have two great links for you today. Both courtesy of my recent newsletter from BabyCenter. The first is this great article with the science behind mommy love. I've tried to tell people what this is like, but just like people tried to tell me before Izzy was born, it's impossible to describe. It's just the most powerful feeling on earth.
BRB - Izzy cries again....sheesh. This time took a lot longer, and I think he'll be up for good in a minute or two. Poor kid can't go back to sleep without one of us in the room. We've really screwed up his sleeping. He laid down as soon as he saw me walk into his room, but then he had to keep peeking at me to make sure I was still there. And once he had to sit up, stick his finger in and out of nose one time, and lay back down. I crept slowly out of the room, but we have the squeakiest floorboards in the world, so it took a long time.
Anyhoo, here's the link that describes the science behind parental love: Mommy Love. Let me know if I need to post the article for anyone. So Izzy just walked in here, carrying his two babies with him, and looking at me in a very accusatory way. I told him I'd lay him on the couch, and then he could see me. Surprisingly, this seems to be working. Weird.
This second link is from a columnist, and it's freaking hilarious! It's old Weight Watchers cards and her commentary - be sure to check this out: Recipe Cards.
Izzy is just laying on the couch now, halfway asleep, halfway awake. He sure is cute. I'm feeling a huge surge of oxytocin. Curious? Read the article.
