Izzy, the night stalker.

I had the weirdest thing happen the other night. As I've complained about before, Izzy gets up at some point EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and comes down the hall to get in bed with us. One night last week, he comes down about 2:00 a.m. I pick him up and put him in between us where he proceeded to spend the next two hours kicking the crap out of my back.

So at 4:00 a.m. I picked him up and carried him back down the hall to his own bed, where, miracle of miracles, he stayed. At least for a little while.

I woke up at a little after 7:00 and I thought, "Wow - Izzy has stayed in his own bed this long!" Then I realized that there was a little body all stretched out against my back. "Oh well," I thought, "Chris must have brought him to bed when he leaving for work."

When Chris got home that night, he asked what time the baby came to bed. I said, "Didn't you bring him to bed this morning when you were getting ready?"

"No," he said.

Apparently, Izzy got up sometime after Chris left, quietly came down the hall, where I did not hear him at all, and climbed up in bed with me by himself!! Blows my mind! How in the world could I not hear him?? Why didn't he stand by my bedside and cry until I picked him up? The only thing we could think of here is that he knows that once I take him back to bed, I'll keep it up, whereas daddy always gives in, so maybe he just walked around and climbed up when he saw Chris wasn't there.

Still though, I can't believe I didn't hear him walk down the hall. I'm just glad he decided to come straight to bed rather than go play with the kitchen knives.
