Today Chris turned 29. My hubby is getting old!!
As a testament to HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM I gave up a chance to spend the day at the pool to stay here and make him his special birthday request: a pot roast. That's right - boiling water all day long when the high was 98 today. Not swimming on this most perfect swimming day of the summer, but making pot roast. And birthday cake. And running to Charleston simply to pick up his favorite ice cream and then right back home.
But the pot roast turned out perfect, as did the cake. My sister, Micki, who NEVER eats cake actually asked for a second piece!
It was a fun evening. Micki called over to see if Chris's parents were coming, and they didn't, so she and Johnny showed up in their PJ's. Johnny suggested we turn it into a pajama party, so every guest was presented with a nightie to prance around in. I gave my dad a skimpy red lace number. Chris's mom and dad really missed out on some fun, but in their defense, they threw him a great party Sunday. I just had the one tonight because this is his actual birthday.
I'm pooped. But Chris is worth it. Just barely.

You forgot to say that I helped it all come together! HAHA! It was a great party and the kids didn't even fight! What cha doing for mine?
