I can't wait to see the kids open their presents. Sophie has been impossible to keep out of the presents. She scoots and wiggles her way to the presents every time I put her on the floor. Izzy has been very good about them - all he's done is try to give one to everyone who walks in the door!
But I also am so stinking tired from all this preparation. And Christmas itself will be exhausting. Christmas Eve we'll head to Chris's granny's house, then back here to open our gifts, then either to mom's house, or everyone will come here to open my family's gifts, then maybe church at 10 pm, but that's awfully late to get the kids to bed, so maybe not. Then back here to get all the Santa fun ready.
Christmas day we'll have to get up early so the kids can have fun with their toys before we're off to Chris's mom's house for brunch at 11. Then it's back to my mom's house for dinner at 4:00, then after that we'll have a birthday party for my Aunt, whose birthday is the 25th. WHEW! It tired me out just to type it all!
It's wonderful that we have so many people who love us and who want to spend time with us. But it does get tiring.
This year I have wrapped ALL of the gifts myself, and there's about a billion of them. I still have a few left, but I think we finally finished up Christmas shopping today. Speaking of which, let me tell you about today....
I met a friend from my baby board for lunch. It was awesome, but her son was so well-behaved, and Izzy was so bad that he looked a little touched in the head. *sigh* He was every bit as bad as I'd hoped he'd be good. But it was still lots of fun.
Then we went to drop off some formula to a woman's shelter, as well as some other baby things. Next stop was our lawyer's office to drop off her Christmas presents and we talked about doing a will too. Next stop was at the mall to see Santa. Got lucky, no line, and the kids loved him. Then we went to Target to get Sophie's 8 month pictures made and they were AWESOME. Best pics we've ever had taken of her. We Christmas shop there, then we got to Bad-Mart to finish up the shopping, then we go to Sam's to get Izzy a hot-dog, since he'd been screaming for one since lunchtime. Final stop was at my aunt's house for a quick visit with her and my grandma. I'm pooped. Heck, I think I'll even turn in early tonight.
Can always wrap those final gifts tomorrow....
