We're headed to Baltimore this weekend to visit my youngest sister, Crystal. She sent me an article about traveling with kids, and the basic advice for traveling with a toddler is to take inexpensive little gifts to doll out every hour. We did this going to FL, and it actually worked pretty well. So does Benadryl.
Anyhow, this is a quote from that article that I find absurd: "In the car, balance solitary activities (everyone listening to their own iPod) with kooky car games like name that tune, guessing games, travel bingo, and so forth." Are you kidding me?? We can't even afford one iPod, much less four. I think this author must have been smoking crack when they wrote that.
So I'm having an awesome afternoon right now. Why? Both kids are sleeping!! Woo-hoo!! Sophie had a marginally better night last night, so I'm not feeling too bad either. They both went to sleep super-easily, too. So very nice. I ate my lunch in peace! By myself! Then I had some ice cream! In the middle of the day! And I was the only one licking my spoon!
Guess I'll get back to doing some housework. But I'm kind of trapped. No matter how quietly I slide by Sophie's door, she ALWAYS wakes up. It's like she can sense me. So that's why I'm going to do housework now. If I could get to my bedroom, I'd curl up with a book instead!!
