Happy (late) Mother's Day!!

Since I am, of course, a mommy, I chose to spend my day enjoying my babies rather than writing about them!! I hope everyone had as great a day as I did, and I hope no one else had as giant an argument with their mother-in-law as I did. My husband did a great job of showing me how much he appreciates the work I do as a mom: breakfast in bed, all diaper duty, all housework, complete cookout prep, cooking and cleanup, and a few great gifts as well. He was even cheerful all day!

Let me tell you about that breakfast in bed though...he got up with the kids and took them to McDonald's to pick up breakfast, and left me sleeping. I had in ear plugs so I could sleep late, which I did. I hear them getting up, and I'm back asleep instantly. Next thing I know, my shoulder is being shook roughly and I can hear Chris talking, but I can't understand what he's saying through my ear plugs.

"What??" I hollered, heart pounding. "I can't hear you - I'm wearing ear plugs!" I pulled them out as quickly as I could and saw him walking away. "Look beside you," he said. There sat my breakfast, nicely put on a little tray.

I got up and carried my tray in to eat with my family, though, because breakfast in bed kind of sucks if your all by yourself. And, if you're still a little shaky from a near-heart attack.

The icing on the cake, however, was when he had my back in the argument with his mother, and afterwards told me in admiration, "Now, there's the woman I married!" Thanks, babe, for everything.

I'll leave you with a picture that perfectly sums up why I love being a mom:

Motherhood rocks!
