Want to hear a tiny bit of griping? Along with trying to get the siding done and all the painting we need to do to finish it up, I've got to tackle the house which is a wreck from me working outside of it all week, and where we're having Izzy's third birthday party on Saturday. Which brings me to the first of two truths I have for you today:
***THE TRUTH*** Married women who've been married for more than a few years stop doing all outside work for this universal truth: No matter what type of "man"-work we do, all the "woman" work is still going to be inside waiting on us. And that's THE TRUTH.
So let me tell you what's on my agenda for tomorrow: 9 am: Work out, 11 am: Speech therapy, 12 am: Developmental therapy, 1:15: Lunch, then nap for the kids. 3:15: Wake Izzy and get him purtied up, 4:30 pm: Izzy's 3-year old portraits, 6-8 pm: birthday party for the kids' one year old cousin. I hope I actually get up in time to get to the gym tomorrow, or else the summer program I signed up for, which requires 3 visits a week for two months, will be bust. And it just started this week. I wish they had a babysitting service there, but they don't, so I have to work around mom's schedule. Even though she's ultra-accommodating and bends over backwards to help, sometimes it just doesn't work out. Hee hee...work out/work out. I'm hilarious.
I'm worn out again. While the kids are napping tomorrow, I'll be putting away laundry, mopping the house, and cleaning the bathrooms. Then I think I'll be ready for everything. I got all the gifts wrapped up tonight. We have the birthday party for the 1 yr old cousin tomorrow, Izzy's Saturday, and their 5 yr old cousin's on Sunday. Busy, busy weekend. But it should be a lot of fun too!
I can't wait to see Izzy on his birthday!! It's been the best three years of my life. When I was pregnant, I read a quote that said once you have children, your heart walks around outside your body. That is so very true. And I read another similar quote today, which brings me to my second, and more profound, truth.
***THE TRUTH*** It was actually an author quoting a poster on her journal, who said, speaking of children, "We hold their hearts in our hands." It's so easy to thrill a small child, and just as easy to devastate one. It's up to us, both as parents and adults, to protect their gentle hearts. And that's THE TRUTH.

Lol, I was going to use that quote on my blog too. Great minds think alike. And I love Catherine's journal too, she is hilarious. Good luck getting things done!
