Chris turned 30!

Chris turned 30 on Tuesday, but I threw his big party last night and it was a blast! We had a few people cancel on us, including his brother and SIL who had the baby, but I guess that was a good enough excuse. I gave Chris a case of Stadium Mustard. That's what turning 30 will get you around here.

The special cocktail of the night was Double Fudge Martini's - yum! Too rich for a second one. If you want the recipe, let me know in a response and I'll post it next week. My sister Micki took this picture of the martini. She is getting good on the camera. In fact, I think she took all of the pictures in this post.

I was able to remember in time to order Chris's birthday cake from Ellen's Homemade Ice Cream. He's asked for it for several years, but they need a couple of weeks notice. I held it out for him to blow out his candle and he saw it and asked, with a huge grin, "Is that it?" "That's it!!," I happily said. It was worth the wait, trust me.

Crystal and I served as bartenders, which was a lot of fun even though I didn't know what I was doing. Chris and I bought this little bar on clearance a few years back and we hadn't had a chance yet to break it in. You know, been busy having kids and all. We made the kids their own special drinks, which they got a huge kick out of. I'm not telling what Maddie took a sip of here.

It was a great time for all of us, and I hope Chris had as good a time as the rest of us!!
