Yesterday morning, while my mom, dad, and sister were all here and we were having breakfast together, Izzy looks up from his biscuit and very seriously asks my sister, "Crystal Mae, how come you don't have a family?"
While the rest of us, including Crystal, tried to hide our giggles, she told him, "Because I'm not married yet."
He studies her for a moment, his face brightens, and he tells her, "That's okay. God is your family!"
Being on the verge of laughter anyhow, this unexpected reply made us all start laughing. Beaming, he looks at me and Chris and says, "God is our family too!"
He smiles expansively as he looks around the table and exclaims happily, "God is ALL our family!"
