Dreaming Big

So the kids and I are currently sitting here in the living room watching the family favorite: Dirty Jobs. I, perhaps, love it for reasons unrelated to the rest of them, for the host of the show, Mike Rowe, is H.O.T.

Anyhow, while we were watching it, a commercial for Verizon came on. I'm thinking that I should just go ahead and forward it through the commercials (it was the first show we set our DVR to record) when the man in the commerical tilts up an orange juice carton and takes a big swig out of it.

Sophie asks me,"Why did that man just do that, mommy?"

"Because he is gross," I tell her. "Men sometimes do disgusting things."

Then I feel a little guilty, but only because Izzy is going to grow up to be a man, and not because I think I'm wrong about men being gross (I'm not), and I say, "But Izzy is never going to do that because I'm going to teach him better."

Izzy looks at me with a big smile on his face, a gleam in his eye and joy in his voice, and says, "Oh yes I am! Someday, I AM going to do that!"
