My new life rocks.

I LOVE being a stay at home mom!! Izzy and I have had a wonderful week and a day. I feel my old spirit, which I didn't even realize was missing, coming back. I truly have a renewed zest for life.

This morning for example, my sister and I were supposed to talk a walk and do a couple of errands. She wussed out on my and took a nap instead, but Izzy and I had a FABULOUS time. He was so good in the long line at the post office that the man behind us even commented on it!

When we got home, it was snowing - our first bit of snow, and we got a gorgeous dusting of it -Izzy went down for a nap and I got tons of household chores done. So Izzy woke up from his nap and came and found me and I was loving on him and asked him if he had to pee-pee. He shook his head yes and got off my lap and walked into the bathroom. I took off his dry diaper and he peed!!! Second time in the potty today! I got him dressed again and I came back in here to finish putting stamps on bills. After a few minutes, Izzy walked over to me and put his head on my shoulder. Then I smelled stinky. "Did you just poop?" I asked him. He looked at me intently. "You're supposed to poop in the potty," I told him. He looked at me and took off to the bathroom again. I followed him and then he looked at me to take off his pants. I said, "Did you already poop?" I looked in his diaper and saw one little turd peeking out so I hurriedly took the diaper off him and sat him down. Then he pooped!!!! In the potty!!! I did the happy poopy dance! I think the potty training is going to go pretty quickly.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I used to feel near-disdain for SAHM's. And pity. I just knew their lives were so boring. Well, let me tell you - I was dead wrong. I am loving every extra minute with my little man. The only flaw is that I have to look for work for the next six months to draw my unemployment. Since it is money that I have paid into the fund over the last 16 years, it would be nice if they would just give it to me, huh? I know that now I'll find a great job with lots of money since I want to stay home for a little while. :-)

One more bit of good news - WE'RE HAVING A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are both terribly excited. Everything looked great on the ultrasound, which was a huge relief. I was a little worried since I've been so sick. But SHE looks great!!!

Life is so very good.

ahhh - Cindy - I am glad you are enjoying it so much. You are getting a different perspective on SAHM after walking in those shoes. I know what you mean, my experience is that being home is more difficult, and nothing CLOSE to boredom.
