Let me tell you about my Saturday. My friend, Denise, did a little powerpoint presentation for me for Christmas, and I chose a door behind which I found my present: facials, lunch at the Ferguson Tea Room, then back to her house for dinner and a movie. Since I'm still puking morning and evening, we just did the lunch on Saturday - and it was AWESOME!
First of all, the Tea Room was so gorgeous and elegant. We ate off of fine china and silver, and the place itself was incredibly regal. They served us their complimentary house tea of the day, which was Jasmine, and it was so delicious - I had three cups of it. Then we ordered lunch. I had Raspberry fruit tea over ice, white asparagus cheddar soup, ham and cheese finger sandwiches, a lavender scone, and a pecan tassie. Every bite was simply exquisite! Strong, delicious flavors, but presented so delicately. It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten.
We had such a nice time. It was the first time, other than taking the dogs and cat to the vet on the Friday before, that I had been away from Izzy at all since I'd been laid-off, and I didn't realize how badly I needed that break. I love being with little man, but he is a LOT of work! It was one of my top ten afternoons. I can't wait to go back!!
Your cute story for today: Izzy didn't want to take a nap today, and he was being so sweet about it that I decided he just wasn't sleepy yet and I didn't push it. Chris wanted me to make the church deposit for him and I wanted to pick up some rolls for dinner tonight, so we ran our errands, and, just as I hoping, Izzy fell asleep on the drive home. I came in and took his jacket off him, laid him down, and pulled off his shoes. He still looks incredibly precious when he's sleeping. I tip-toed out, and pulled his door shut. Then I go downstairs and let the girls out of their play yard (we have to put them up when we leave- they have severe, destructive, separation anxiety) and I went to change out of my sweatpants into sweatshorts. I love the SAHM wardrobe!!
When I come back up the hall, I see that Izzy's door is standing open, and I think he's gotten up. I look around the corner, and both of the dogs are standing by his bed, wagging their tails!! It was so cute! Cute, that is, because they didn't wake him up. I patted my leg and they quietly came out. They love their little brother, but they have to stay on their guard around him. I guess that's why they like him sleeping so much!
Your guilt trip for the day: If you haven't donated to the Tsunami relief effort yet, please do so. That is so tragic that I can't even wrap my mind around it. I've donated twice now - won't you join me? You can donate just about everywhere - here are two links: Google, and Amazon. They will appreciate any amount you can give.
