So very tired.

How can I possibly be this busy when I'm not working?? And how can I not be getting anything done?

So Friday was a big day. Had an ob appointment, which went well. My blood pressure is acting up, so it looks like I'll likely be induced early, which I'm thrilled about. I had lost the 4 or 5 pounds that I'd gained so far, and they did an ultrasound, which put the baby at 5 lb, 10 oz. Then we went to a yummy lunch at the middle eastern buffet, then we had family/maternity pics taken. Can't wait to get those back. Izzy did wonderful. He's become such a ham. Then, that night, my sisters threw us a baby shower, and it kicked ass!! They are so awesome. Everyone who came brought two or three gifts, so we got tons of gorgeous clothing. It was a lot of fun. Chris said we were surrounded by most of our favorite people, and it's true. Thanks, girls!!

We went shopping Saturday - ALL DAY LONG - to get things that we still need for the baby, and by the time we were done shopping, we'd spent about $200. GULP. And I bought more baby clothes. SUPER GULP. But I think I'm back under control now. Little girl clothes are just so freaking cute!! Then we went shopping again Monday - ALL DAY LONG - and now we're down to needing just Mylicon drops and a bassinet. I'm going to try to get those tomorrow.

So I took my blood pressure yesterday morning, and it was 180/120. Called the doc and everyone was worried. Dad came over and sat with me, chasing Izzy and taking care of both of us, until he took me to my appointment at 1:00. I was scared of having a seizure with my bp up so high, and then maybe knocking myself out and no one being here to take care of Izzy. But when we got to the doctor's office, where Chris's dad met us too, my blood pressure was about 154/98. Waaaayyyy better. Ends up, my cuff went bad. Thank goodness!! The appointment went great. Both grandpa's seemed to really enjoy the ultrasound. It was my dad's second, but the other one he'd seen was when we found out Izzy's sex at 18-20 weeks, so it was a big difference to see a 35 week baby squirming around. She's up to six pounds now, and she has amazingly chubby cheeks - just like her momma. I'm hoping for the dark hair, too. I had also gained three or four pounds since Friday, but that's likely just bloating from my high blood pressure.

Went out last night and bought a wrist cuff, like mom and dad's, which we had checked against the doctor's readings at the office. All day after my appointment yesterday and all day today, I've been getting readings around 105/65. Isn't that even freakier??? This body is getting weirder and weirder every day.

I know I've said it before, but I think it bears repeating: Can't wait to get this baby out of my body and into my arms!!!

Oh I am so glad that your cuff had gone bad. My heart jumped when I saw that BP reading. Yowsa. I got the do not pass go, do not collect $200, go immediately to the hospital - speech when mine hit that. Glad that grandpa could come over. Lay low, not long now before induction.
