Leaving, on a Penske truck....

My baby sister is taking flight. She's been trying to land a good job with the federal government for a couple of years, and now she has. She'll start work on September 12, in Baltimore. We are all ecstatic for her, but we're going to miss her too. When she first moved back after graduating college, she'd get so angry with me and Micki, our other sister, for doing things and forgetting to invite her along. She was understanding at first, but after about a year, it started getting to her. Now she'll pay us back, even though she won't realize it, for I'm sure we'll keep trying to call her old number and invite her places before we remember she's living a couple of states away.

Chris said to me the other evening, "You're sure going to miss having your other minion around, won't you?" We cracked up, but it's true. I can always count on her to come over and lend a hand whenever we're throwing a party or cooking a nice dinner. If I ever need to go shopping, she's always up for the trip. If I'm just trying to get some housework done, she's been known to come over and play with Izzy for a while to help me. She's really going to miss her nieces and nephews:

She's a very good aunt. But it will be great to have such a fun place to run around in when we visit her. And the kids will think she's the cool aunt, living in the big city. It will be soooo strange not having Crystal practically next door to us, and literally next door to Mom and Dad, but it's exciting to watch her spread her wings.

Good luck, kiddo! We'll miss you.
