I've got two sweet Izzy stories for you tonight:
1. Izzy was supposed to be laying down for his nap, and I looked in his room to find him leaning on his windowsill, staring out pensively. "What's the matter, buddy?," I asked him. "I want Memaw...Granny to come to my house," he said. "I want Granny to come to my house," he repeated, looking at me sadly. I was amazed, because my mom, dad, and sister had just gone up to my grandmother's house two hours away today, to try to convince her to do just that, to come in and stay for Sophie's birthday party. Oh, and sometimes he calls her Memaw, but she's the only one he calls Granny. I don't recall talking about this at any point in front of him, but I guess we must have. I want Granny to come to my house, too. She didn't come back with them yet, but we're still working on it.
2. While we were eating dinner, he picked up the phone and wanted to call Memaw. When it's just Memaw he says, that usually means Chris's mom, Judy. She wanted him to call her "Mam-Maw" but he's corrupted it a bit. We don't know why he calls my grandmother Memaw, too, because no one else does. So anyhow, Chris called her and he said hi, and that was that. But a little while later, he went into the kitchen and got a banana. He held it up to his ear and said, "Hi Memaw! I fine." Then he giggled, as if in response to something she'd said to him. Then he said, "Oh, Memaw? I love you. Bye-bye!" He really is a very sweet little boy.
What? You think talking into a banana is weird?
Well, maybe he's a little bit nutty too, but that's part of his charm.

Maybe if he was to call Memaw granny and ask her to come see him, maybe she would!! As for talking into the banana, he has a great imagination!
But has he worn a banana sticker on his forehead??? He is not a true member of our family until he does that! :)
