We made an offer on a house that was accepted! Woo-hoo! Our first offer was 18% below their asking price, but rather than ignore us as the cheap jerks that we are, they came back with an offer that was 11% less and said that was their final offer. Pretty fair, we thought. And walked away. Made an offer on another house, our second choice, that was a lot closer to their asking price, but they ignored us. We looked at more houses, but went back to our first choice and decided to try again. This time we offered 14.5% less than the asking price, which was our arbitrarily set highest offer, and they agreed! Yippee! So far so good. We're getting a great house in a great neighborhood. I'm getting a pool and Chris is getting a good deal. We're all happy.
Now comes the hard part. Waiting? No, that's bearable. The move itself? No, we'll have movers for the first time ever, so that will rock.
The hard part is trying to save money now. I want to go buy things like crazy for my cool new house. But, of course, until closing it's not really my house, and we all know what our luck with the whole housing thing has been like already, so I don't need to be jinxing us. But I'm excited, and what better way to deal with that than shopping???
Guess I'll try to put that off for a while. I want to wait for a good sale anyways. But it feels good to have some anticipation in my heart for a change.

Hope your move goes smoothly!
And I loved the picture of Izzy asleep in the trolley (looking so comfortable in such an uncomfortable place)
