Big things are happening.

Have I mentioned lately that I have no little children? Sophie's had a big growth spurt. Well, not a spurt really, because she's just grown steadily and rapidly since Christmas. She went from a size four shoe at Christmas to a size 8 or so now. Girls shoes vary widely in size. She can wear from a 7.5 to a 9 depending on the shoe. Izzy's shoes have never varied that much.

I know I haven't mentioned yet that I've signed them both up for preschool. Yep. Both of them. Truthfully, I'm not 100% looking forward to it because Izzy will be going FIVE days a week, from 9 to noon. Sophie will be going on Mondays and Wednesdays, but her class is called playgroup. I am giddy at the thought of two mornings all to myself, but man am I going to miss the little monsters. I really had to be talked into letting Sophie go - she's so young to be gone from me for six hours a week. But the thought of SIX HOURS A WEEK WITHOUT KIDS was too much to resist. That is going to rock. I'll even have time to work out. But that first day I drop Sophie off and leave her all alone will break my heart, no doubt. Might not be as hard as I'm imagining though, because she's a tough little cookie and she'll probably be pushing me out the door.

Izzy might be a different story, though. He was curled up on the couch with his head on my lap watching cartoons the other day and we were talking about preschool. He looked up at me with those big blue eyes looking so sad and said, "But I'm going to miss you so much. I don't want to go." Poor little guy. He's been so good this summer and we've had a blast together. I just hope that he's equally as good for the preschool so we can avoid the nightmares of last year.

All of their supplies have been bought, including Batman and baby Scooby-Doo lunch boxes, and I've got them each cool new outfits for the first day of school. Sophie's is size 18 mo, because she's all legs, and Izzy's is size 8, because he's all huge.

Six more days to go. *sad sigh* *excited sigh* *anxious sigh* *giddy sigh*

Time marches on! I still remember when my little girls went to school their first day. Well, not really but I like to think I can.
