My son is BRILLIANT.

I have a confession. One that will most likely surprise none of you: I wear sweat pants or shorts pretty much every day. In my defense, on Mondays and Fridays, I generally just leave the house to take Izzy to the bus and pick him up, and I'm only seen by kids. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I go drop Sophie off at preschool, and then I go work out, so the sweats are a positive. But those of you who know me well know that I'm not a fancy girl and I like to be comfy.

But today I have a doctor's appointment, so I'm wearing real clothes. Again, nothing fancy and comfort still reigns supreme, but I look nicer than normal - blue slacks and a white sweater. And a necklace, even!

So I walked into Izzy's room where the kids were playing and asked them how I looked. Izzy smiled up at me and said, "Great! I think you should wear that outfit every day from now on!" Then he laughs wildly and says, "Just kidding! But I do think you should wear it whenever it's clean. You look like a real young woman."

That kid is a GENIUS.

OMG aren't little boys the absolute BEST?? Dylan is ALWAYS the first to compliment me when I am dressed to go somehwere. Like you 99% of my days are spent in sweats and hang around the house clothes. When I get dressed "up" to go somewhere, Dylan is always the 1st to tell me "Mom, Wow you look pretty" or "You are beautiful Mommy" etc. funny too how that compliment from a freaking 5.5 year old means soooo much and also amazing how it comes naturally to him, but has to be dragged out of his Dad...LMAO!

I told you he was brilliant and also like a man, gives compliments to get what he wants. They learn so young.
