I love throwing parties. I like to do a big theme and have everything coordinate around it - food, decorations, favors, etc. I have three I'm currently planning: First: Sophie's First Birthday; Second: Izzy's Third Birthday; Third: Chris's 30th Birthday.
I still need to decide on food and cakes for Sophie's and Izzy's parties, but the themes and everything are almost done. Sophie's theme is love, for two reasons. One is that her third name is Love. The second is that Valentine's Day stuff was on clearance. I know, I'm cheap, but I truly was thrilled with the idea once I started looking around. Should be very cool. Heart-themed plates, cups, and favors, heart garland and banners, big Mylar heart balloons. It's going to be very cool. Like Izzy's first birthday party, it's going to be a more adult-friendly party.
Izzy's party is going to be a puppy theme. He's very much into puppies right now, so I'm capitalizing on it. The plates I ordered for his party came today and he squealed when he saw them, hugged them to his chest, and wouldn't give them back to me for about 15 minutes. I've got some cute puppy favors, and then for decorations, I got Rug Rats themed party goods from Big Lots clearanced for 25 cents a piece! It works, though, because the dog is featured prominently. Plus, it's all brightly colored so Izzy will love it. His party will just be close family and maybe my best friend, so no one will care that it's not all coordinated. But it will be seriously cute.
For Chris's party I have purchased a 50 cent package of cool cocktail napkins. I'm going to do a more sophisticated theme (duh) with brown and teal colors, I think. He couldn't care less what I do, so it should be pretty easy to pull together.
I bought a bunch of stuff tonight for their parties and I think I'm going to go ahead and assemble the goody bags and favors tonight. That's my favorite part - developing cool take-away's for everyone around my themes.
And if I stay busy, I don't dwell on how fast my babies are growing up. Okay, I still do, but I try.

Love is a great idea for Sophie's party! I still can't believe she is going to be turning one. Time flies. Good luck with the party planning!
