Happy Anniversary, Pookie!

Six years ago, we had been husband and wife for a mere two hours. We were probably at your parents farm, enjoying the huge celebration they put together for our reception. I know I was getting nervous about that cross-country flight we were getting ready to take, so that we could go on our Alaskan cruise honeymoon. How awesome was that?? I'm glad we had such a great time, because now, two kids later, it'll be a loooonnnnggg time before we can afford another.

It has been a great six years, hasn't it? We've had a lot of adventures together. Bought our first home, had our first baby...and our second. Adopted two dogs and a cat. And a few fish who aren't with us any longer. But the rest still are, so we're doing good, still ahead.

We've been awfully lucky. We've had our ups and downs, but mostly ups. The down's certainly haven't kept us down either. How many layoff's have we experienced in six short years?? Two or three for you, I think, and one for me. I'm glad that laughter and love have truly gotten us through them without being any worse for wear. I think we're both more content now than we've ever been, except for that three-hour daily commute you have. Once that's licked, we'll be purring like kittens, won't we?

You've been a trooper. I'm not an easy woman to be around 24/7, but you do a pretty good job of enjoying it most the time. God knows you didn't envision cleaning my infected c-section wound when you said, "For better or for worse," but not only did you do it without a grimace or smirk, you tended to me as gently as any nurse I could hope for. Plus you got HUGE extra bonus points for sleeping on that horrible chair for the four nights when I had Sophie, and the six additional nights when I developed that infection. That was amazing. Thanks, babe.

I can't believe it's been six years already. Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it??? I hope it's flying for you too. Here's to adding another sixty...I love you.
