This morning the kids were acting wild, so Chris sent them both to their rooms while he went to cook some oatmeal. Izzy had just been whiny, so after a few minutes I let him out of his room.
Chris came down the hall and saw him and asked, "Did I let you out of time out?"
"Mommy did," Izzy said, "And she's the boss, so I came out!"
"Mommy's not my boss," Chris said laughing.
"No," Izzy told him, "Let me tell you something about women and the way it is."
"Tell me," Chris said. "I've been wanting to hear this for a long time."
"See, some women are stronger than men, and that makes them the boss," Izzy said.
"So you think mommy's stronger than me?"
"No, but she's still the boss," said Izzy.
"Well," said Chris, "What if I walk over and bash mommy in the head - does that make me the boss then?"
"No," Izzy said. "There's nothing you can do to make mommy not the boss."
"Just go eat your oatmeal," Chris said.
