On Monday, Izzy came home from school very excited: "Hey, mom, we need to turn on the news," he said. "If the groundhog saw his shadow, we're going to have six more days of Christmas!"
"No, honey," I said, "If the groundhog sees his shadow, it's six more WEEKS of WINTER. And I already know, he saw his shadow!"
Izzy's face fell. "He saw his shadow?"
"So that's six more weeks of winter?"
"Yep," I say, thinking he'll be excited thinking about snow days and sledding.
"OH NO," he screamed. "I hate winter! I'm so tired of winter! I hate that groundhog!!"
Sorry, Punxsutawney Phil. But I hate you too.
